The Keeper

A hand-stitched linen scarf handbook

A quiet textile project for anyone who enjoys making slowly.

Through simple, free-flowing running stitch and reflective writing, The Keeper invites you to create a linen scarf that gradually develops its own pathways of stitches, becoming a record of time, attention and everyday life.

Why I made it

For many years my creative work centred around painting and the oracle and tarot card decks that grew from it. Although the materials have changed, the heart of the work has remained the same: paying attention. Over time I found myself wanting to slow down even further, away from finished objects and towards the quiet process of making with my hands.

Working with cloth and thread felt like returning to something that had been waiting for me. Simple running stitch became a way of noticing, of marking ordinary days and allowing thoughts to settle without needing to solve them. The Keeper grew from my own desire to create something useful, beautiful and deeply personal through slow, repeated acts of making.

I created this handbook for anyone who is drawn to that same pace. You don't need to be an experienced stitcher or an artist. It is simply an invitation to spend time with a piece of linen, a needle and thread, and to discover what begins to emerge when making becomes less about finishing and more about paying attention.

Who it's for

This handbook is for anyone who enjoys making with their hands.
